I'm wondering if the extension you mention in this video is still active. The only one I could find was Talk to ChatGPT with no hyphens, I added it refreshed ChatGPT and nothing shows up. I was able to use Mia but it phonetically speaks Spanish and uses English words to translate my Spanish. Is there a new plugin or extension that does what can be done in the video?

I'm British and live in Spain, a part which is tough to learn Spanish: Extremadura. I started watching Cuéntame cómo pasó (a long-running Spanish series kind of similar to The Wonder Years), I still struggle with the colloquialisms, the stuff you never get from language courses, but I would say that conversing with Latin American Spanish speakers is still a damn sight easier than in Spain :-)

I have Duolingo to learn a few words at least but I tend to quite after a while. I was watching a language learning video on UA-cam as well which will help. Even if I won't be able to make many sentences I'll have fun trying to write it at least.

I don't think that you need to move into another country for language immersion and just bring the country to you I mean watch contents in your target language but I would suggest you to use Refold method, you could search it on google.

This video was made 7 months ago so many changes might have happened since then. I did AI teacher for a month but there were too many tech problems so I canceled my subscription. I liked it when it worked so it was a shame that the there were so many issues.

First of all Jerry, sak pa se!!! I am from Brooklyn living near Haitians & Dominicans and like you, I also grew interest in learning the languages spoken around me. That’s how I started listening to Kompa & Bachata. Not so much for Kreyol but for Spanish, I couldn’t really escape it in NYC and I immersed myself in Spanish in Brooklyn. Changed all my music to Spanish music and watching dual lyrics on UA-cam and watch telemundo!!! Novelas dominicanas!!!!! This video has been a confirmation for me that I’m on the right track and not actually losing my mind obsessing with this language. Thank you.

I think your best bet is to learn as much of a language while you’re awake and then let your brain process it at night. That’s just my idea anyway.

I’m going to be a foreign exchange student in Colombia next year. I’m watching this to learn as much Spanish as I can before I go but I’m so grateful to be able to study in another country for a year. I’m doing it through rotary and it’s definitely the most affordable way to immerse yourself in another country for a long period of time however there is still a lot of preparation but they can help you through some of it if you have questions. Actually… I think Duolingo is not that terrible. I have just started learning French there. I think that as long as I don’t use Duolingo as my main learning, I will be able to progress. For example, I spend about 30min a day on Duolingo + I constantly immerse myself in the language by watching films/videos is French even though I understand very little. Then I also watch videos on UA-cam and soon when I understand the structure of sentences a bit better I will start my own little diary/notebook where I will write my own sentences and search for new words to learn. I also have friends who speak French (natives) who check my prononciation. But I really enjoy Duolingo, I don’t want to throw it away. Can I succeed with this plan?? Also - I am fluent in English, but I’ve only spoken it for about 6 years, so I use the same methods to learn a third language that helped me to learn a second language

However, with the help of useful extensions like Immersive Translate and DeepL, I've been able to overcome the language barrier. Moving forward, I'm committed to putting in my best effort to learn the language and not just relying on tools.
